ROBERT OPPENHEIM

Co-Founder & Principal

Mr. Oppenheim has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial and residential real estate industry, handling over $1B of transactions across the spectrum of investment strategies, asset classes, and market types. He is currently involved as a Principal in a number of acquisition and redevelopment projects across the country through the investment firms he has co-founded – Market Street Real Estate Partners and the recently formed Split Rock Real Estate Partners.

Prior to forming Market Street in 2012, Mr. Oppenheim spent 12 years with Bayview Asset Management where he led a specialized group responsible for restructuring large balance and complex non-performing and sub-performing commercial loans and oversaw the property management division. During this time, he also led the firm’s principal real estate investments including retail, office, and large-scale leisure projects in excess of $500 million.

Prior to joining Bayview, Mr. Oppenheim served as Chief Operating Officer of Gulfside Development where he directed the strategic turnaround and operation of more than $200 million in retail and industrial properties located in the mid-Atlantic region. Before Gulfside Development, Mr. Oppenheim served as Executive Vice President of Mann Theatres in Los Angeles where he spearheaded the company’s expansion into both California and Colorado. A Pittsburgh native, Mr. Oppenheim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

BRYTTEN COOK

Co-Founder & Principal

Ms. Cook is a co-founder and Principal of Split Rock Real Estate Partners - a real estate investment firm specializing in commercial and residential acquisitions, development, and management. She has over a decade of professional experience with more than 6 years specializing in real estate asset management and acquisitions across a wide variety of markets, asset classes, and investment strategies.

Previously, Ms. Cook spent 5 years serving as the Senior Asset Manager at Market Street Real Estate Partners, a fully integrated investment firm specializing in acquiring and repositioning underutilized commercial properties to generate above-market risk-adjusted returns for investors. At the time of her departure, she was in-charge of over 1.3M square feet and $300M of commercial and retail space with lead responsibilities that included overseeing the properties’ leasing, business plan execution, lender and investor relations, refinancing, dispositions, and all design and construction processes.

A resident of Pittsburgh, Ms. Cook received her Master of International Administration degree from the MAIA School at the University of Miami and she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in her home state at the University of South Dakota.

MICHAEL OPPENHEIM

Associate

Mr. Oppenheim has more than five years of experience in business analytics and financial modeling across real estate and strategy consulting. Trained in ARGUS Enterprise and A.CRE’s Excel-based real estate financial modeling Accelerator, He has analyzed and underwritten over $150 million of real estate investments across a wide variety of asset classes including Industrial/Warehouse, Multifamily, Medical Office, Office, Retail, and Self-Storage.

Mr. Oppenheim has led underwriting for Split Rock Real Estate Partners since its inception, creating custom and dynamic Excel-based models and providing analytical insights to identify nuanced risks and opportunities. He also worked at New York City-based Partners Path Capital as an MBA Summer Associate where he underwrote a variety of real estate investments in New York, Virginia, and Massachusetts.

Previously, Mr. Oppenheim worked as a Senior Business Analyst at The Cambridge Group, a top boutique consulting firm focused on solving demand-centric growth strategy problems. At TCG, he created a variety of quantitative models and analysis tools as well as strategic recommendations for clients including The Coca-Cola Company, Kraft Heinz, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, and more.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Miami, Mr. Oppenheim earned his MBA from NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with specializations in Real Estate, Finance, and Sustainable Business and led the +200-member Stern Real Estate Club. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University, where he studied Economics and Psychology as well as leading two student organizations.
